Mary Flack
Mary Flack received her BFA in Painting and Drawing in 2000 from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. As an undergraduate, Mary participated in the Academy's study abroad program and spent a semester studying the Italian Renaissance in Florence, Italy. Upon graduation, she began teaching a weekly figure painting workshop at the Academy and also became an Instructor of Painting and Drawing at Kids Art, San Francisco. Mary has instructed students from the ages of four to adult in a variety of media including charcoal, pastel, watercolor, acrylic and oil. She has developed a positive, encouraging teaching style that focuses on individual attention and step by step instruction so that students of any level can feel satisfied by the progress that they make.
Mary was a member of the Compound 21 studios in San Francisco and has shown her work throughout the Bay Area. She has recently returned to Chicago, her home town, to pursue graduate studies at the American Academy of Art.
Beginning in 2008 Mary will be lead instructor for the Youth Program at Vitruvian.
