Historically, the copying of antique statuary has been a staple in the education of classical sculptors. Students will acquire skills in building an appropriate armature, proper calibration and measuring techniques, blocking out major planar forms, and successfully rendering accurate surface quality. The course is tailored to the comfortable pace of each student and with time permitting at the end of the course, one-part moulds will be explained and implemented, giving students the opportunity to cast their final sculptures.
