Much like our Advanced Life Drawing Course, Advanced Oil Painting addresses more complex concepts in oil painting technique. Students will construct their paintings with a well rendered grissaille, and slowly build upon their forms with a series of color strings to accurately produce both hue and value in their picture. Drawing and anatomy will be heavily stressed in this course to portray figure paintings with both beauty and clarity. Additional discussion on direct and indirect painting, such as glazing, scumbling, vellaturas, and alla prima techniques will be addressed as we use a more extended palette of colors than our Basics course.
