Students will gain valuable experience by completing paintings at the rate of one per hour. Working at this fast pace will allow students the opportunity to problem solve and experiment without the commitment necessary for more involved pictures. We will focus on identifying the essential elements of subjects ranging from still life to the figure, while developing skill in brush handling, color mixing and paint application. By analyzing a variety of subjects and thinking through a multitude of paintings, students will achieve the confidence and ability that is necessary for successful painting on any scale.
