"Painting the Figure in Photoshop" blasts off.

Instructor Ian Naud demonstrates in class.

Today we launched our inaugural session of our new workshop "Painting the Figure in Photoshop", a kind of digital counterpart to our figure drawing and painting classes. Students came equipped with their own laptop, software and pen tablet, while we provided a model (Thanks, Nicole!). Ian then took charge, taking us straight to the intersection of figurative art and computer geekdom!

David was on cloud nine. "I haven't had this much fun working on a computer since I was a kid playing with Koala Painter on my friend's Commodore 64... Wait, that makes me sound old, doesn't it?"

Part 2 is next week, and after that the fun continues with "Sculpting the Figure in ZBrush" on February 20th & 27th. This might have to be a regular thing!

"Drawing Board" is a window on the day-to-day activities in the studio. Every few days we'll post work by instructors, class demonstrations, photos of classes in session and anything else that strikes our fancy to document what Vitruvian is all about.

Occasionally, small works will be available for sale via online auction as part of an ongoing fund-raising effort to keep the cost for our classes as low as possible. Works for sale will be accompanied by a direct link to the auction should you wish to place a bid. Thanks in advance, and happy viewing!
