Drawing for "Pickled Green Beans"

Mindy's garden yielded mightily this summer, and among the masses of tomatoes, zucchini and apples was about a metric ton of green beans. We ate some, gave away most, and she pickled the rest in jars. When lit, these transmit the most beautiful Green-Yellow you've ever seen. Such obvious fodder for still life painting cannot be ignored, so David got to work immediately. The painting is nearly done now, but he took some in-progress shots. Since every painting starts with drawing in one way or another, here's the drawing for "Pickled Green Beans". Hope you enjoy it.

"Drawing Board" is a window on the day-to-day activities in the studio. Every few days we'll post work by instructors, class demonstrations, photos of classes in session and anything else that strikes our fancy to document what Vitruvian is all about.

Occasionally, small works will be available for sale via online auction as part of an ongoing fund-raising effort to keep the cost for our classes as low as possible. Works for sale will be accompanied by a direct link to the auction should you wish to place a bid. Thanks in advance, and happy viewing!
