Figure Study in Graphite and Chalk by Vitruvian student Laura Brown.

The January session of life drawing classes ended today and we wanted to photograph everyone's work. There was just one problem: the battery in the studio camera was stone dead and David left the charger at home. Unwilling to let good work leave without documenting it, he had only one option: iPhone. Did we mention that the iPhone's camera stinks? Well it does. We were so pleased with Laura's drawing, however, that we decided to post the image anyway. She'll be back at the studio next week and if we ask nicely, maybe she'll bring her drawing back so we can photograph it properly. When we get a better capture, we'll update the post.

"Drawing Board" is a window on the day-to-day activities in the studio. Every few days we'll post work by instructors, class demonstrations, photos of classes in session and anything else that strikes our fancy to document what Vitruvian is all about.

Occasionally, small works will be available for sale via online auction as part of an ongoing fund-raising effort to keep the cost for our classes as low as possible. Works for sale will be accompanied by a direct link to the auction should you wish to place a bid. Thanks in advance, and happy viewing!
